The agenda of LPWAN17, the 2nd edition of the international conference on IoT and M2M wireless LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) technologies, is online. “LPWAN17: Showcasing The IoT Networks Ecosystem” is hosted by L’Embarqué, ...an all-digital media focused on the embedded software and systems markets, and Upperside Conferences, a leading high-level telecom conferences organizer. The conference will take place in Paris on March 21-23 and will get together hardware and software technological IP providers, analysts, standardization bodies, cloud platforms vendors, LPWA networks operators and applied research labs. After a successful LPWAN16, LPWAN17 will gather again the most renowned experts in the promising LPWAN market, coming from companies like Actility, Cisco, Ericsson, HPE, m2ocity, Nokia, Objenious, Sagemcom, Sierra Wireless, STMicroelectronics, Synox, and The Things Network among others. They will provide insights on the different LPWAN solutions and give keys on building efficient and profitable business models. LPWA networks constitute an ideal solution for machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications that necessitate wide coverage and a sparing use of energy at a limited cost. Smart City (with its sensors embedded in an urban setting), water, gas & electricity metering, e-health, connected buildings, agriculture… are amongst the multiple applications that can be potentially covered by LPWA networks. The conference will also enlighten experience feedbacks from early adopters and put emphasis on selected startups like Acklio, ffly4u, Trusted Objects, Ubiscale, and Wyres. After a first tutorial day dedicated to LoRa and NB-IoT initiatives, the conference will start with an introduction keynote on LPWAN market by Aapo Markkanen (Gartner), followed by sessions on the LPWAN ecosystem (from chips to service providers), standardization works, geolocation issues, cloud platforms for LPWANs, security topics, and role of Internet and IP technologies. Several companies involved in field LPWAN deployments (Actility, ATIM, Expemb, m2ocity, MeterLynq, Synox…) will describe some real applications. LPWAN17 presentations have been selected by a conference committee of seasoned experts, namely Régis Lauret (Eolane), Cyrille Le Floch (Qowisio), Philippe Cola (Bouygues Telecom), William Webb (Weightless SIG), Jérôme de Murcia (Orange Labs), Aapo Markkanen (Gartner), Philippe Guillemette (Sierra Wireless), Nicolas Jordan (Actility), Teppo Hemiä (Wirepas), and Johan Stokking (The Things Network).
